yes yes YES i am getting a entire new blog here soon! the blog stats are getting a huge amount of traffic these days and i really really need to update this thing! the images i upload to this are so darn small and the colors tend to be off sometimes.

this slideshow has been a long time coming here, we shot this back in february!! things have been stupidly busy at my house these days and finally i have grabbed some time to really conquer this project and devote all my love to this couple, as they know...i freakin love them soooo much and i even more adore her family......yes, it was as windy and cold as the pics looked that day.....poor dianna was literally frozen that day. of course the day before and that day after our shoot was nice, sunny and big beautiful puffy white clouds for as far as your eyes could see....but not this day! i want to give my friend shannon with flourish designs a huge thank you and a huge-er hug for making these floral arrangements for us. dianna and ralphs first year wedding anniversary is this sunday, holy cow where has the time gone?? enjoy the show as it is truly one of my very favorites and worth being frozen solid for most of that day! view the show here

next week is pretty slow- ive plowed through the major part of my work flow-this week has been so busy already and its only tues....all the ad stuff is due, cover submissions again, oh i am hopeful to place another this round, however i wont hold my breath in grabbing them both this time, god that was super cool though! taxes are finally filed, i think i sent out at least a dozen packages at the post office today..... so i will be doing a small revamp on the site including some new music next week. basically a good cleanup is what is in order. the websites always seem to get the least amount of attention. i do have one last blog to catch up on from a few weeks ago which is the wing stop grand opening- pretty cool stuff to be mentioning!! hopefully get to that tomorrow or the next. i have not taken any recent pics of my kids lately, i am thinking of dragging them into the studio this weekend, should be fun!

on sunday i AGAIN had the pleasure of shooting jeff and lisa. YES the wedding was last month and the e session was this past sunday. they booked the wedding pretty late in the game and last months weather was horrible so we had to post pone this session. i described this couple as insanely awesome the last time, and YES - YES they are! my cam loves them and they love my cam. ive much enjoyed using all these new actions and that but have felt a little all over the board. i have finally come to the conclusion, I LOVE them, BUT they are not for everyone and not for every situation. i love the fact that i can go either way with processing depending on the circumstance and how aggressive the clients like the images. jeff and lisa have been a huge treat for me because not only are they freaking gorgeous...but they let me do whatever my little hearts desire. a note to clients.....we are artists and you hire us for our talents and abilities in shooting and on these hours and hours of post production. TRUST is such an important factor on both sides....isnt it? i forgot to mention on the wedding blog last month- jeff and lisa are both dentists....would you guess that? no. i love them, i adore them......and i sooooo hope they see me again when its time for those baby pics! you guys are the best - thanks for giving me such insanely awesome portfolio materials!!

aww this wedding yesterday was just plain beautiful! the ceremony was at first covenant church and just a hop skip the reception was held at lake natoma inn. could we ask for better weather?? to start the flowers were gorgeous, joan with beautiful by nature knocked our socks off with with brilliant bouquets. the cake came from pastry heaven, i REALLY wanted a piece of that too but by the time i looked for some, it was all gone, it must have been a good one. the driver from baja limo was so nice and smiled the whole time.....it was just a good day for everyone. brandon and kami with sound image entertainment did what they do best....masters of the music and coordination. i did shoot this one solo so i know i can always count on kam kam to keep her eyes on that stop watch she brings for me :) aaron and his daughter cianna are very old and dear friends of mine, this cute kid used to hang at my house quite often, i had not seen her in sometime and as i thought she is just a beauty. i am 100% in love with cerrina, aaron scored on this little lady here, and her son markus i finally able to meet yesterday...what a beautiful boy with the most AWESOME hair. i am so honored that aaron and cerrina asked me to photograph this special day for them. you have such a special family, congrats you guys!!

oh my i am still trying to get caught on my blogging here! this precious baby belongs to catherine and rick, seriously one of my very favorite clients in the whole wide world! i hope to be able to see this kid grow for a while. funny hugh was crying and fussing off and on through the session...pretty typical i think. we thought maybe he was a bit chilly so rick grabbed the hair dryer thinking it would warm the area up a bit......it DID....but i think it was the sound of dryer that was comforting the baby. anyway- i am just honered to be able to stay close to my clients that i adore so much. congrats guys.

the only word i can say about this wedding is... INSANE!! lisa was a bit worried at first that her wedding album would not look so like a wedding album. this wedding was very small, about 30 guests, but very very intimate filled with just the close family and friends. and what did this awesome couple gain by this? a serious obnoxious incredible and dee-li-cious amount of freakin amazing bridal shots! michelle and i had 2 1/2 hours after the ceremony to do what i love to do....hang out in grungy alley ways and find the dirtiest walls possible downtown. this is really some of my very best work and i had a blast doing it! i have not even seen michelle's stuff yet, but you guys made out like bandits ...ok, yah, so did i !! i think i told jeff and lisa i loved them ...mmm....about 27 times that day. they are later this summer having a second wedding and reception elsewhere, much larger from what i hear. enjoy your pics guys......i typically have 30 minutes or less with my couples.....YOU ROCK!! and a huge shout out to lisa's sissy lan for driving us stop and go downtown, and picking us up some subway and waters, you are thee best.

some of you may know the pittman family here. joe is works with extreme productions and is one of theee most awesome dj's in sac and he also greets us every morning on the rise guys sports talk radio 1140 khtk-am. i was VERY excited when joe called and asked if i could take these family pictures for them. first i want to start off with miss hannah, is this the cutest kid ever? as soon as i saw her and wanted to put her in my pocket and take her home with me. laura is expecting their 2nd baby, baby jack. laura glows, and she is just a beauty! this was such a fun session, joe here is very lucky to have such a beautiful family! see you guys for that 2nd session, and hannah owes me some soup made from her special kitchen. :)

i had one of the best days ive had in a long time today- i started with coffee with my very special friend, we could not have asked for better weather, finally some sun in our lives these days! then headed to old fair oaks for this couples e session. the pics we got from this session are rockin awesome, they 100% gave it up for my cam, seriously needed very little direction. they are getting married in aug at slocum house, one of my favorite venues! gotta love all those chickens and roosters hangin around.
a HUGE hug to marty and jason for referring this amazing couple to me, we just clicked immediately. i could not ask for better clients for 2009!!

mark your calendars for march 28th. there is a brand spankin new wing stop restaurant that has just opened recently. this is owned by my very very (like before the kids entered the world very) long time friend and theee best dentist ever, dr. leo townsend. grab your kids and your families and come join us. they will be having one of our local radio stations there, some of the sacramento kings players and some pretty cool contests. if you have never eaten at a wing stop, you MUST! the lemon pepper is my all time fav! as we get closer to our date, i will let you know all the other details and exact location. myself, and my very good friend stephanie with stephanie smith photography will be shooting this event.

so back to trade show talk in vegas. i knew i was in the market for some textures, actions and effects for a select handful of pictures for weddings and other shoots. i came across the booth of the awesome marcus bell from australia. not only is he one of the most amazing and well accomplished photographers in the world, but also speaks at seminars, book author and now is creating the most amazing photoshop and lightroom products. one of his team members spent a ridiculous amount of time with me until i felt i knew how to use this stuff....poor him...yikes i talked his ear off and played 50 questions with him. so i was sold and bought the whole set up which i LOVE so much more than i thought i would. i love the textures and effects but was so leary about buying them, i was afraid that my images would look different, my shooting would have to change, but this program can be so subtle yet so explosive on certain images. i spent a good day or 2 glued to my computer playing with this, poor sarah's phone was lighting up most of the day, yet with more questions until i got a good feel for what i was doing and understanding....you rock sarah, ty!! so i decided to send this marcus bell my finished product and of course the huge thank you for eating up so much time with his fellow shooter....much to my surprise, HE WROTE ME BACK! he liked my image so much he asked about posting it on his blog as a before and after sample of his software. to get recognition from such a leading photographer in the industry...in the world.....is beyond my wildest imagination and beats any ad, or any contests, or any other accomplishment i have done in this business. i am truly beside myself and so honered to have any mention in his blog.

this wedding was nothing short of pure class!! christina and doug were married on valentines day at whitney oaks cc. not one thing fell short on this day...best of all we had NO RAIN! we started their day at their home....their BEAUTIFUL home right there at whitney oaks. i got a good sense of what kind of peeps they are with all the decor, i thought this image fit perfectly with their personalities...classy yet subtle. i could go on and on about this day, lots of different things going on. christina was as beautiful as it gets, her miosa dress...aww elegant of oh so soft....her makeup was flawless of course, it was my very fav makeup artist in the world, cynthia uranga with eye for detail artistry. no sit down dinner, they had the best of the best horderves, oh that shrimp was to die for! the reception was lit up like disneyland, we had chandeliers, candles, votives, twinkle lights and everything in between. besides sonny g with exquisite entertainment dj bringing in all this awesome lighting, he also brought in tall boy stools, and some pretty damn cool lounge furniture that i have never seen before at a wedding. when christina first met with me she was describing how she wanted her reception to look more of a lounge night club scene....and it did! the place was packed and sonny had the dance floor moving all night. party concierge took care of all those amazing florals, her bouquet was to die for! and her cake, masterpiece, seriously it glittered everywhere!! (have to get the baker on that, sorry) everything was just a perfect fit this couple. thank you guys for letting me share such a neat wedding with you and your awesome friends and family!.....i ended up getting some super cool portfolio material here :)

yesterday i had the pleasure of getting am email from a childrens cancer org. volunteer and aspiring photographer getting ready to graduate from sac state. awww the vegas show was awesome! i was so wrapped up in the tradeshow it was ridiculous! i did find tons of new stuff though:) i found theee album i wanted, i also found a couple others i liked as well, will be ordering those next week. a few new flash goodies, but most of all i did grab up those actions/filters/and textures i wanted. they are really simple, and really subtle, exactly what i wanted for those super cool images that just need to extra oomph! ill be posting some oldies and goodies of my favorites over the next weeks to come - i have played around with a few images that have come out really pretty!! i would imagine in the next few months i should have this thing together in my head and whip things out pretty quickly!! rick and catherines maternity session will be my first project, catherine is up for being my super awesome guinea pig, i know the slideshow will be amazing!! i had the best time ever with thais, beth, sarah, and andrea.....we ate A LOT!! and bought A LOT!!

the last couple of weeks have been weirdly busy for this time of year....not complaining though! i will be away in vegas on the annual trade show slash seminar stuff starting next monday thru late late wednesday (feb 16-18). if you need to be in touch, please do so before i leave but i promise to get back to you by the end of next week. i have much much work to try to get out by the 16th which includes NO MORE BLOGGING!! staying on schedule and afloat of post production is one of the biggy goals this year!

my couple here wasted no time in starting that family, they were married just last april. catherine has about 7 weeks to go and then baby will be here to delight us!! i love when i can shoot in home sessions rather than the stale in studio stuff, we can really bring in so much more personality and avoid all that heavy flashy strobe stuff. their home is BEAUTIFUL! it was 1915 this home was built, and it has all those cute nooks and crannys....i had no idea they made stoves that are the size of doll house furniture...seriously! check back in a couple months when this precious new baby is here!

i was able to grab a couple shots of my kae kae while waiting for our fam shoot yesterday, kaela has been doing quite a lot of shooting with me lately ...mostly e sessions, a couple of weddings last year, and she is becoming quite the little assistant. its happened 2 times that my brides have chosen an 11x14 for the wedding signature matt that was kaelas shot, yah her head was pretty big. look out in the next few years, yet another photographer blooming! gosh she almost 15, where has the time gone. hug your little ones tightly, its a FAST ride and before you know it there all grown up.

seriously what better weather could we ask for in january!! shooting has been fabulous these past few weeks i cannot believe it.
i was finally able to meet with cute pete here. a few months ago, jenn and her sweet papa came in to meet with me and booked me for this awesome wedding coming up in july. they are having one huge wedding at their church and then off to the new le rivage. that place is sure busy busy busy, what a GREAT venue, i think i have 3 weddings scheduled there this year. jenn and pete brought there puppies cami and nellie. nellie took to me right away....i had treats :). both great dogs, great mannered so it was a special treat for me to get these pretty girls photographed, i dont get a chance to do much doggie pics. again, another great shoot with some super awesome couples. - i did have to mention how much i LOVED both sets of pretty jenns jewlery- we basically have to same exact taste, big and clunky and just make a statement kinda jewlery....i really have the best job ever!!

yesterday was just fun, no work, no pressure!! mike and i had a great time shooting. i think these pics are going to be used all over the board....commercial, some modeling, some marketing, some website. whatever they are used for, it was just good fun, out of the buzillion times i have been in old sac, ive never been in the railroad museum, so that made for some pretty coolio shots as well, mostly due to that costume he picked up. ill just post a couple pics here and expect a great slideshow in the next coming weeks or so. if any peeps are out there looking for a dj for any type of event, mike is truly one of the best in sac-and hey he's pretty darn hunky and easy to look at too :)

how much do i LOVE my new online galleries? A LOT!! i should have done this soooo long ago. i think my clients are really going to appreciate organization! all the fun things through out the wedding date are now set up in its own folders. parents want to go in and just view their beautiful bride, they just go straight to that folder. clients can go in and create there own favorite folders- sit on their lunch hour and go through a slideshow etc. this is seriously life changing and i will be able to regain some of my sanity. i am also finally now taking credit cards....2009 is full of easy and simplicity! i am also so close to being done with my new marketing folders, after buying a buzillion different colors and textures i have finally decided on a candy apple red slick and shiny folder with my new logo, oh its just PRETTY! i have a few more things to things to get but overall it is complete with new pricing, misc pricing, book upgrades, and all the services i offer in one handy folder. gosh i feel ORGANIZED!! a HUGE thank you to marty and jason, and HUGE thank you to chanie and alec for referring me to my newest booked couples for 2009!! hugs

this amazing couple is here from hawaii visiting for the holidays. (id rather be there right now in that warm weather) they are getting married in july. we bonded instantly and the camera just loved them both. it was an awesome day in old sac, a bit chilly but kinda warm and how bout the cool blue skies with some clean white clouds...mmmmmm..... i have a great slideshow with tons of yummy pics coming in tomorrow. and ill say again...HEY ladies, what a wonderful opportunity to get that makeup trial done as same day of your e session!! cynthia uranga with eye for detail artistry spoiled us once again with her talents!! i could tell ashleigh felt really pretty, well SHE IS!! duuu. it felt so great to be out in the sun today even if it was a little chilly, i had not been out shooting in a bit so it felt really really good!!

sacramento bride and groom magazine new issue is out, and i have been chomping really really really hard to finally hold these beauties in my hands. both of these images were voted as first and second place covers.....YAY!! my very first bridal covers ever!! oh they are soo so pretty in person, and i am still so excited about this. also inside is dianna and ralphs gorgeous 6 page spread. they were married at scriber bend in may. HOLY COW- i never thought i would go into a grocery store or book store and see my images on a mag cover sitting on a magazine rack. its just weird....but weird-ly awesome!!

thursday nights event at the sacramento ballrooms was a HUGE hit!! not only did they have some awesome vendors sponsoring all sorts of wonderful things...food, wine, and a silent auction of all kinds of goodies, but this event included so many wonderful people, teachers, families and friends. the event, so i was told, started off to very a very small mixer...and in the end turned out to be quite a large one. all this incredible hard work from alison and andrea with alison ulshoffer events and design were able to pull off a huge charitable donation to the west sacramento school and at the same time, the guests had a great time. it was such a great turn out i am sure they will be making this an annual event!! thanks again alison for letting me participate in this one.

and lastly, its been a pretty busy month so far. ive tried staying away from any computer work and hey, ive done well!! i took my girls to the jingle ball concert last week, oh so many teenagers. allyson, my youngest, she is 8- it was her first concert...just to see the eyes light up is well worth those over priced tickets. both the kids are deeply in love with katy perry, yah they both talked me into the katy perry tote bags, she is a cutie. my oldest kaela, she is now 14- (yikes a freshman) has been to a handful of concerts, her first was when she was 5, went and saw the backstreet boys....yah they were hot bad boys back then. it was a great night though. ive done about half of that xmas shopping.....today i went and got all those supplies for that gross cookie baking time i chat about once in a while. i am also getting ready to bring in credit cards and a whole new gallery system with an actual shopping cart....a "whole new level" wink wink gino. :) lots of new products coming in for 09. OH!! and a FABULOUS new lab i am using- i just ordered all new prints for the studio walls----ohhhh they are something pretty and the colors are just dripping off of them. i will get in there next week and get them all hung. i hope you are all awesome, staying warm and having a great holiday season!

i have recently met up with the neatest girl alison. she is a wedding and event planner here in sac. she does go a bit beyond that though, she has got such a wonderful eye for detail, color schemes, themes and most anything out of the box. i cannot wait to work our first wedding together, hopefully get something going for 2009! i have the pleasure and wonderful opportunity to be be shooting her event......the west sacramento community wine tasting holiday social. she has some rockin sponsors signed up to do what they do best. this event will be held at the sacramento grand ballrooms which is one of my fav places, and is where alison has her office. alison is new with our next issue with sacramento bride and groom mag...i have no doubt this lady will be a busy busy girl!! be sure to check out alisons website here (its got that awesome color pink that i LOVE so much)

this is a weird story here. i met this hot blondie on the right here at a wedding years ago in tahoe. never ever met her before...she does the most fabulous hair and even more fabulous bridal hair here in sac by the way. i ended up liking her so much i set up an appointment to get my own hair done.....which of course i always LOVE! come to find out, we live not even a mile apart, our kids (at the time) were going to start the same preschool together. and we have been awesome friends ever since. her cute hubby there and my hubbs coach our young girls for softball now. ohhhh sacramento is soooo SMALL!!

sacramento bride and groom magazine puts on their twice a year magazine entry cover submissions. so trying again i grabbed some fav's of 2008 in hopes i would at least rank in there somewhere. so i got the call last week that not only did i win 1st place, but i also won second place!! OMG!! i know i made a crazy spastic fool of myself on the phone when i got the news. i spent the next hour calling all of friends--so these cover images will be december and (i think) march. arent these two just beauties-not only are the just plain gorgeous, but they are also beautiful inside, ive established really great relationships with both these lovelies and they were just perfect cover brides!! (the text on these are just sample text by the way) i am so beyond excited and so fluttery about this, my very first bridal magazine covers.......life is damn good!!

a note to all my awesome clients out there. if you have loose print orders to fill, get those to me asap!! i will be here for the holidays, and i will be answering emails/phone calls and a handful of new consultations coming in for 2009 :)- however i will not be doing any post production, computer work, lab prints, or albums -- i am on official vaca the first of december through mid january. i am sooooo looking forward to time off from this computer, and my kids are even more excited. this is much needed and well deserved time off for me. YAH for cookie baking i say! so yah, get me any orders in by the end of the month!!

this awesome couple was married yesterday nov 2nd at orchard creek's sun city lincoln hills. i love this couple sooo much!! gretchen has been planning this wedding since she was about 3 years old!! it all came together so beautifully. gretchen made a lot of her own things, the bouquets, centerpieces, the girls jewelery, and many other little neat touches. they wrote their own vows which were so touching and real, this couple is deeply in love!! both families were so wonderful, it really was just a perfect day for them. the food was great, freeport bakery brought in yet another gorgeous cake and lisa from creative sound entertainment took care of the reception events. congratulations!!

this was a really FUN wedding! they were married this past saturday the 18th at the delta king in old sac. jeremy and his little ring bearer (soooo CUTE) wore top hats and canes. becky was 100 % gorgeous in that gown. visual impact took care of the pretty flowers throughout the place and my very favorite freeport bakery brought in yet another yummy beautiful cake. brandon and kami with sound image entertainment were in total control of the dj and coordinating. i know i have said this before, but i LOVE me some brandon and kami. my couple here live in virgina so i have mostly delt with her mom yolanda which i adore! they were here earlier in the year and we got time to photograph the engagement pics...yolanda had the most sexy hot mom shoes i have ever seen, my mouth dropped as soon as i saw them and i of course had to get that shot. becky and jeremy are simply adorable, you just look at them and know they are sweet as sugar! hugs you guys.

ok time to get caught up on 2 weeks worth of blogging..OUCH! ive noticed the last couple days i have had an unusual amount of stalkers in here so ill guess people are waiting anxiously! ok ok ok......things may not be in order but here they come.
my big almost grown big kid kaela and i met with monika and jeff in old sac to do their awesome e session.--my kid is gonna be some awesome shooter here, everytime she goes with me my couples always seem to pick one of her shots, yah she has become pretty big-headed to say the least. i think jeff has an appreciation for my ripped up files and over saturation, he has his own graphic design business. :) i cant wait for the wedding, they grabbed up wine and roses for the wedding in may, im pretty stoked, i have not been there in a while. how dang adorable are these 2!!

saturdays wedding was such a treat for me and michelle!! raquel and mark brought in so many unique pieces to this day! i am so honered and so happy to be a part of this. 2008 is has brought me so many weddings that are so different from level to the next. raquel and marks ceremony was at the cathedral and reception was at library galleria. raquel made it very clear she wanted anything outside of the traditional pictures for her day.....ya i was pretty much drooling at that point. they had a live band from houston playing, most of it i could not understand being the fams are venezuela. into the night they had hidden huge bags under the tables filled with masks and beads, and boas, and hats.....the party was ON at that point!! raquel wore a huge white feather head piece she got from brazil, she was glorious in that thing, and mark wore a painted mask. even the cake was over the top, ricks desserts brought in this red, orange and brown cake with the nightmare before xmas look to it.

another awesome wedding yesterday!! we started out at the sheraton for theresa getting ready pics.....dang she is something gorgeous! she had CLASS just written right across her forehead!! i cant wait to get going on these images. we raced over to sacred heart church for the ceremony and then back to the sheraton for a great reception. i got to work with a few of my fav's that day too, its awesome to see those friendly faces. shannon with flourish never ceases to amaze me with the gorgeous flowers she brings in.....if you want fresh, you gotta get shannon!! she is sooo the best seriously! joe with extreme productions did the dj'ing and brought in some lights which were great..he always plays the perfect music for right crowd to keep them moving...i got such a great cake shot and a perfect dance shot with that coolio lighting going on. speaking of cake, i again was able to photograph that for freeport bakery, i cannot tell you how many of those cakes i have lately.....all just as gorgeous and unique as the next one! a platinum limo showed up in that awesome sparkly clean limo. i did get a chance to meet up with team video pro's, they were great to work with. jonathon colombini ( i hope i have the right spelling) with spanish fly took care of all the ladies hair, what a great guy with tons of energy....i hope to work with him again, theresa's hair was fabulous and so classic and it went so perfectly with that gown from miosa. perfect wedding, perfect day...i LOVE theresa and dan, and my camera loves them!

DANG this wedding was a good one last night! i DID get tons of imax shots like i wanted! :) beth from true love did give up her sunday off to help me out on this one. september has been way over packed for both of us so huge hugs to her! i think we have one wedding left for the year where we work together, i am her girl on that one....i LOVE when we shoot together! so megan and alex were married at the hyatt and the ceremony was there at pool side, i had not seen that area so it was pretty cool. reverend christopher nesbitt performed the beautiful ceremony. i always love listening to him, he puts so much thought and love into his words. the very awesome brandon and kami with sound image entertainment was the dj. kami is so the best coordinator that walks the faced of the earth. village cake shoppe brought in that beautiful cake, a very delicate and elegant one. ...oh the pictures from this wedding are going to be nothing short of amazing!

sharon and michael were married at la provence last night. its always a pleasure to see raquel there. they had the sweetest most intimate wedding i have seen in a while. sharon is a beautiful lady, and a teeny tiny one at that, i think she's about 4 ft 10 and michael is just tall - about 6 ft 3 or so. sharon was stunning in her jessica mc clintock cocktail dress. not a lot of fuss and muss on this day. very close fam and friends and all 5 of their gorgeous kids! it was a great day, hugs to you both! and tonight i will be photographing megan and alex's wedding at the hyatt, i sure hope there is time and those imax lights are on. i cannot get enough of neon lights at night!

BUSY day tomorrow! i am delivering prints in the am. then i am racing to to the studio to deliver a wedding album for marie and hunter. this girl got her book order so so fast it made my head spin! they were married on all of our big day, 6-7-08! she came in last week to proof her album and had a bit of a problem. i locked myself out of my office and no sooner i turned my head and there was marie chomping at the bit to see her book. i shooed her off and 2 1/2 hrs later a locksmith came to open my door...ugh i felt horrible so i am comping her some loose prints......gas is expensive these days and i totally respect my clients time....but ya i still felt dumb. marie and hunters wedding was lost in my "blog hiccup" during june and july so i am back tracking a bit on that as we go along here. they were married at st. stevens catholic church, most of our formals were at the capitol, and then we finished off at the awesome reception that was held at the hyatt. the dress from miosa was incredible. they special made a little lace jacket that was made of the lace material on her dress. it was gorgeous and marie pretty much designed it herself. her makeup was done by the awesome cynthia uranga with eye for detail artistry. her gorgeous flowers came from shannon with flourish. freeport bakery took care of that beautiful cake....ive been seeing them a lot lately! the dj mike malinao was here from the bay area....he was AWESOME! and calimos took care of the driving for them. lots-o-love with this family. her dad was adorable the entire day, he had a constant little tear in his eye. marie and hunter LOVE black and white photos. and to finish off the day i have a new client coming in for consult for 2009.

adrienne and matt were married last night at arden hills cc. fabulous wedding!! i had many friendly faces there last night, first my really good friend stephanie with stephanie smith photography gave up her sunday to help me out on this one. adrienne sister was married last november at library galleria so i got to hug her and her handsome hubby brian and that new baby of theirs.....oh she is soooooo squishy darling! and of course a huge thank you to mom and dad for having me back to photograph their other beautiful daughters big day. this year has been crazy busy with a huge amount of referrals from family, friends, co workers and everything in between. referrals are seriously the greatest and its always such a nice feeling when people remember to throw your name out there, i so appreciate all of it, and its always so good to see everyone and those new hair cuts and new babies! ok...back to adrienne and matt....the ceremony was at the villas, perfect weather and not too hot, this couple has been together many years from what i understand so this has been a long time coming here. lots of love and a few happy tears. the djs had the dance floor totally packed, they played a ton of remixes and the guests were lovin' in. ive never seen a sunday night wedding so crazy, i think i was the first to leave. huge hugs to you both!

sam and lance had the perfect most storytelling wedding last night! me and my super awesome of the awesomest helper michelle met sam and her cute chicks over at the sheraton grand for the getting ready shots. i got to see cynthia with eye for detail artistry....best makeup goddess in all of sacramento! she took care of the faces of the girls. shannon with flourish was their delivering her always gorgeous flowers, those bridal bouquets have really got the weigh 10 pounds....you know they are fresh when they are so heavy! me and mich raced over the capitol to grab those formal shots of the boys.....the boys were FUN and energetic! a platinum limo came in the drop the girls off a little later then we headed to the cathedral of the blessed sacrament for the ceremony, that place is truly breath taking isnt it! the reception was held at the library galleria, i always love shooting there. all season all reasons handled her catering...all i can say is YUMMY! and freeport bakery brought in her very unique cake. i cant wait to dive in these wedding photos, samantha and lance were over the top gorgeous. sam and lance own a the art gallery "oh my goddard gallery"in Branson MO, they had some really unique things going for the wedding, one of my fav's were her reception favors. very cool and original deck of playing cards, she had mentioned an artist created these, ill have to get the info on that. and later today i will be at arden hills cc for adrienne and matt's wedding, i CANT WAIT!!

i am 100% in love with this couple. they are both so earthy, real, and totally in love! we shot their e session at negro bar on thursday night! fun fun fun stuff! i really hope to get the slideshow up in the next week. i also had a great boudoir session friday morning, i promised to not post anything till after she gives her gift to her hubby....but she is beauty-licious!!

i am starting post production of andrea and tony - they got married aug 31st. i saw this one and just fell in love with the lighting and look on her face. i do this shot a lot and more times than not its a fav and goes into the couples album. her face is just like a porcelain doll isnt it?!

Love, love, love the slideshow! The photos are so good, they look like they're from a magazine. We, (Cody, Kelly, Breanna and Shannon) all watched it last night, twice, and we were all gasping and exclaiming at our favorites! Love the happy smiles you caught on everyones faces. Katie just looks like a doll, so pretty and happy. Love the sassy ones of Katie outside the hotel, and the b/w one of Mike and her on the staircase at our friend's house, Bree putting on Katie's veil, Curtis kissing Mike's cheek, all the bridesmaids goofing around, the grand entrance, Mike's parents and us dancing. Well there's just a lot that I love! I could go on and on. Don't you wish you could be with your clients, (friends now), when they view them? I wish you could have heard us! tips for the bride and groom

i was thinking about adding in a few tips here and there to my blog regarding wedding stuff. not too much but a few important things i like to focus on. recently i had a wedding, i wont say which......:) a person had come into the wedding with cam in hand introducing themselves as a "photography student" and they were on assignment. i found that bit odd but whatever. normally i would never care if there are a buzillion cams around. a huge recent wedding i had...there had to be at least 50 great cams around, not once was i distracted or irritated by it. since the digi world has come around everyone we know has a super nifty canon or nikon camera......even sometimes with some prime lenses! almost every time at our pre wedding meetings, my couple says....oh uncle joe will be bringing his cam, he loves photography...and every time i say- go for it!! not once i have ever told a person to not shoot along side me and my assistant. most photogs dont like it and some dont even allow it. well this particular wedding was a bit overboard, and the shooter was incredibly distracting not only to me but to my asst. - after the wedding i was told by my very awesome asst, that this person had said to her at the reception how to do her job! can you believe it! this person was pretty much telling her she was to be be shooting this person and that person. a lot of times people forget, we photographers dont get invited to our brides and grooms family thanksgiving dinners.....and really all these 100 + people we spend our entire day with are strangers. we have no idea who the aunts and uncles are, best friends, second cousins, the neighbors unless we are formally introduced that day. i know all us seasoned photogs do our very best to get the most possible coverage possible. there was even a point my assistant and i had to struggle with this person to photograph the signing of the documents....this person was using a fish eye lens so they were pretty close. its the professional photographers that get hired and are expected to produce the best results possible without having too much distraction, we have so many things stirring in our minds and the adreneline rush for 6 + hours straight. i hate to sound so territorial - and really i am not- but people bringing in the cams at the weddings really need to sit back and have some kind of etiquette and leave the professionals to get the job done as quickly and calmly as possible. we do have jobs to do....a REALLY important one, and our couples have hired us to do this job for that reason...otherwise they WOULD have hired uncle joe right? i know you all LOVE your cameras, and love photoshop, and weddings are so beautiful you cannot help yourselves...but if you must shoot....keep in mind the pro that was hired is there to fulfill a job, not accomodate students. :)

i have SOOOOOO much to write about anh and derrick....a full 12 and half hours worth! i will post more about this incredibly awesome of the awesome glorious beautiful, dreamy, memorable, colorful wedding later this week....for now i want to post a couple pics to get it up and started. i HUGE HUGE HUGE shout out to my very good and sweet friend thais from love at first click. this rockin photog was with me the entire 12 and half yesterday. we ROCKED, and ate, and laughed and talked and seriously worked our butts off!! gosh the energy was crazy amazing. ty thais xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo, you are theee best ever!

i seriously feel like i was in a train wreck this morning! 2 weeks in a row back to back weddings....and three more back to backs to go......very long but very awesome weekend. dawn and dave's wedding was on saturday at this breath taking location in meadow vista.....dawn's gramma's house. acres and acres and acres filled with trees, streams (no not the man made kind...the real deal) multiple bridges, wild flowers, a line of glorious homes where they just share this property...no fences. this would be the most ideal place for an in home studio...but ya...i dont have that much $$!! i didnt get to shoot near as much as i would have liked, we DID have a reception to go to. i cant wait to get the slideshow together, the reception was set up so pretty....white tent with twinkle lights and candelabra's everywhere. i love doing residential weddings, they are low key and everyone really is "themselves" and so at ease. i saw MANY familiar faces that night. i originally got dawn and dave from a couple that found me to do their e session last year....unfortunately they had a photog already booked in the bay area i believe, but kimmy and mike were sweet enough to refer me to dawn:) ty ty ty !! and then another bridesmaid i saw and stupid me kept staring at her going gosh i know her, i know her.....where?? i said i know you from somewhere.....duuuu...i did her and her hubby and precious baby pics last year. they are the family that FIRST pops up on my portrait section. she did cut her hair a bit and hey, people look different when they are all dressed up, hair and makeup done! (YA i felt pretty dumb for asking) also got to work with again, was joe from extreme productions....he is so awesome and always a pleasure to work with. we are also sharing the same wedding on the 27th this month. her gorgeous cake was done by freeport bakery....JUST BEAUTIFUL! flowers were done by dixon florist, ohhh they were so fresh and crispy and pretty! and the rentals were from celebrations, they always do such a great job.

yesterdays wedding was great! not only were andrea and tony gorgeous, but the entire bridal party was! we started the girls getting ready at le rivage off riverside blvd. omg this place is beautiful, crispy clean and brand new. i have a consultation with a new bride in a couple weeks for this venue, i sure hope she books....beautiful venue! anyway, we finished getting ready, the awesome limo co A Platinum Limo came to pick up the girls and headed over to the capitol for formals. the reception was at the sacramento grand ballroom, dont you just love those ceilings!!
the very awesome mike reagan with Mr. Dj Service handled her music, events, and crazy awesome lighting, he has the most refreshing personality ever and never stops smiling! freeport bakery made this awesome chocolate cake, i didnt get a chance to taste it but it sure looked yummy. fresh cut florist made all the arrangements and flowers. after many emails with jessica, the very awesome coordinator with event architects, i finally got a chance to meet her. im so happy to be a part of this wonderful day.

katie and mike were married this past saturday aug 31st. this family should write a book on how to get a wedding organized!! not once were we behind schedule, the day was just perfect in every aspect.....so few and far between!! we started at a family friends home in EG, gosh what a beautiful back yard. we then headed over to the kingdom hall of jehovah's witnesses off foulks ranch road. it really was such a touching service, katie's dad did the service, it was full of love. we car pooled over to the sheraton grand for the reception. it was beautiful and planned out so perfectly, the cake was beautiful, they were beautiful, the family was beautiful, and the food was sooooo good!! funny before the ceremony i saw this guy i just could not place him but i knew him from somewhere...we ran into each other a bit later and i said- gosh i know you from somewhere, and he said the same thing- well come to find out he was a groomsman of barb and steve from almost 2 years ago at arden hills cc.....sacramento is sooooo SMALL! Kevin Carpenter with Carpenter Video was there, he really is the best and his personality is even better. Chris Adair with Statik Jack was the dj.
the ever popular village cake shoppe made the gorgeous cake, and a close family friend took care of the flowers. stay tuned for the slideshow, it should be a good one!!
